Book review - When God Says NO

When God says NO - Book Review

I enjoyed reading this book written by Sheridan Voysey. This book represents many of us who have experienced the “journey of wilderness” in our life. Wilderness is the barren place of longing and fulfilment – a place of the wilderness waiting yet never reaching the “Promised Land”. The author asks very important questions while we are on the journey of wilderness such as;

-Will we keep our promise when things get difficult?
-Will we still focus on our faith when the costs get high?
-Are morals and short-cuts tempting when we want something desperately?
-Are we able to stay humble when things are getting worse?
These all questions show and test our level of faith at a hard time/season of life. Having the right mindset and behaviour is challenging but very important to be resilient at a difficult time.
The beautiful part of this book is talking about the revelation in the wilderness journey. The time when we are able to discover the truth, learn the lessons of hardship and suffering, realize the primary identity of “who I am” and “who is HE”. The journey is to gain freedom over slavery, wisdom over immaturity and. Finally, in the wilderness reveals the wisdom of understanding God’s fulfilment as His promises. After forty years of wilderness, Moses revealed the Promised Land. After forty days in the wilderness, Jesus revealed the mission of LOVE to the world.
Therefore, after the Wilderness comes a new beginning with new hope and joy.

I decided to write.

On January 7th, 2023, as I sat down to write my New Year's resolution, I decided to take a look back at my old diaries from 2008. I reviewed all the goals and plans I had set for myself each year and felt grateful for how many of them I had achieved. However, I noticed that some dreams and wishes remained unchecked on the list. I realized that while I made plans each year, I had not taken any real action towards achieving them. I began to reflect on why that was, and one goal that stood out to me was my desire to write something every day. I recognized that I had started writing a few times, but I always seemed to stop after a few paragraphs or a day. I realized that I needed some help to get started and started searching for someone who writes regularly to get tips and advice. Then, I decided to reach out and request for a meeting with the blogger whose writing I liked and sought some ideas from him. The meeting turned out great and the blogger shared some handy tips and advice, h...

Count blessings and be thankful

Change is an integral part of our lives, both professionally and personally. It's important to remember that ups and downs are a natural part of life, and it's up to us how we choose to react and manage difficult situations. We often consider happiness, success, and prosperity to be blessings, while negative consequences make us unhappy. However, it's important to remember that a life full of joy is impossible, and it's unrealistic to expect that everything will always go smoothly. The most important thing is how we choose to focus on blessings and positive experiences, rather than dwelling on negative events and expecting them to repeat themselves. By focusing on the positive and wishing for good things to come, we are more likely to attract them into our lives. It's important to make a conscious effort to remember precious moments with loved ones, to expect and wish for beautiful things to come, and to accept failures and setbacks as opportunities for growth. It...
